Reliable and accurate ammo in my AR and this ammo is so much less expensive compared to Hornady. I'd sell my gun if Wolf stopped making this ammo, IMO its not worth having a gun unless you can get ammo that makes it affordable to shoot it. Hornady might be good for hunting but I want to blow up exploding targets, shoot paper and have fun. Thanks Wolf for making a low cost ammo option for 6.5 Grendel
This ammo was the reason that I got a 6.5 Grendel. Adequate level of accuracy for wolf ammo and it's been 100% reliable for me so far in my Larue 18" through Alexander Arms mags. Keep buying it so we get a steady supply!
so I will say the price is really good for this ammo. The downside is this stuff is wildly less accurate than Hornady Black. Mind you I like Wolf and use their ammo for my AKM, 9mm and my 5.56. However, both my wife and I were easily shooting sub-MOA consistently with the Hornady Black (something like 1/2 inch at 100 yards) and this stuff is more like 2-3 MOA. It was all hitting paper but each round seemed "unique" in that maybe the first shot was a bullseye but then second shot would be 2 MOA to the right and the third round would be 1 MOA low. Now you could complain and say that both my wife and I are not good shots but after I zeroed our Grendel that I built she nailed three shots in a row with the Hornady Black that were all touching at 100 yards. Therefore, for plinking ammo this is adequate, but if you want consistency this ammo in our experience is just too inconsistent. I will mention also that SGA is a great company and I will continue to buy from them as the really have good prices and are good people to do business with.
The only problem i have with this ammo is getting enough of it.sam sent notice last time early , waited till i got to work to order,, GONE. Jumped on it this time, Thanks sam and crew.
The Grendel is a proven performer ballistic-wise, and when you factor in the availability of this sub $0.30/round off-the-shelf ammo, it blows every other alternate (non-subsonic) AR caliber out of the water. This stuff shoots just fine for 100-200 yard range plinking. Why you'd want to build something else is beyond me.
I have shot four deer this season with this ammunition. No Problems. I have not ever had any problems with it. I have fired hundreds of round through my AR. Great ammo. great price.
Great price
Bought a 1k round case of this as break-in and range day ammo. Tested it in my long-range Grendel build which has a 20" 1:8 twist AR15 Performance SPR barrel. Ammo averaged 1" groups for 5 shots at 100yds, gun/ammo held true to 1 moa out to 300 yards, which was the farthest we tested it at. Very happy with this ammo at those prices, also run the Hornady ELD Match and the SST, match load shoots boring with 1/2" groups or better and the SST does about 7/8". BUY SOME, YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED
Wolf military classic 6.5 Grendel seem to be accurate for a cheap ammo, the biggest problem I've found is high primers and thicker than normal lacquer coating causes misfires
I had a bunch of rounds either crack down the side of the casing or didn't fire at all even though the primer was clearly struck wouldn't recommend these rounds go higher end and spend a little more money to get better quality and bigger bang for your buck (no pun intended)
