900 Round Crate - 7.62x51mm L2A2 Ball Surplus Ammo from Malaysia - 146 Grain Bi-metal FMJ - Brass Case

Late 1970s to Early 1980s Malaysian manufacture L2A2 mil-spec 7.62x51 surplus ammunition packed in 3 x 300 round sealed original military ammo cans in an 'apple crate'. The cans are M19A1 type commonly called 30 cal cans. Please note that some of the cans will be rusty in places and the seals can be so set in place the gasket may break when you open them, some of the apple crates may be falling apart and the packaging shows roughness from its 37 years of age. The ammo itself is mostly very clean looking, but we saw some rounds with minor cosmetic tarnish in a few cans out of the dozen or so we inspected. It will still be reliable military grade ammo, just starting to show its age cosmetically.  Each can is neatly stenciled with the military markings. It features attributes such as a brass case, a non-corrosive berdan primer that is non-reloadable and a lead core bullet that has a magnetic bi-metal jacket.  Packaging is 7x40 round boxes, and one 20 round box, making a total of 300 rounds per can, 3 cans in a crate. This is a new item here at SGAmmo, in 16 years of the ammo business I had never had it before, but I did a bit of google searching about this ammo and it seems to be very well liked from reviews on gun forums from years past. I have added a lot of pictures of this item so you can see it from just about any angle

Customer Reviews

Bought a crate of this a year ago and it has worked flawlessly in a M1a, AR10, and MVP. 11-79 was my product product run and the ammo arrived as advertised. Definitely purchasing more.
Unboxing this ammo made me feel like I was taking the virginity of a friend. This stuff is super nice. Box and ammo cans are pristine and still gas sealed. Ammo was a bit hazy - but runs without an issue in a SOCOM, M1A, FAL and a couple of Garands chambered in.308. Not match quality, but I'm not either. I was easily able to hit 1 MOA center of mass steel at 100 yds. with open sights. Will hustle up another order before others have a chance at my virgins.
Excellent ammo for the price. Who cares if it's berdan primed? Very clean and consistent. Shoots well in all my rifles. HK91, StG58, Galil 1651, and both C308 rifles all shoot it well. Stock up. The ammo cans lend well to long term storage for shtf. That may be coming sooner than you think.
Berdan Primers, not expecting that. Bad economics if your reloading causde you can't for all practical purposes, it a real waste of the brass.
Have shot 100 rounds of this ammo and I am very impressed. Consistently have 4- shot groups under 1". My shipment is clean and brass is in good shape.
This ammunition was in perfect order, beautiful stuff!!! Ordering more as soon as I am don writing this. Thanks Sgammo!!!
My crate and 3 cans were in great condition. I've only opened 1 can. Ammo looks very clean. Consistent 2" groups at 100yd prone with my PA10 with FN 1/12 7.62 NATO 18" barrel. I'm just a mediocre shooter, and my glass could be better, so I'd say the right shooter and gun could make this close to 1 MOA ammo. So far, 170 rounds with no malfunctions.
Was unable to let go down range when I first got the ammo. Dry conditions, and shooting restrictions kept me from letting loose until the monsoon rains did away with the shooting restrictions. The ammo cans are in great shape, minor round tarnish on some, overall it looked like great ammo made in 1982. Not one hang fire from the 500 or so rounds out of both my AR 10's. I did have a few round extraction problems. Brand new AR-10 I built might have been the problem. Very accurate ammo once I calmed down, and got my mind/breathing set correctly. I always buy my ammo in bulk, and once again SGA came through. I would like another crate once I get some more cash together before they are out, and winter sets in.
I am happy with my purchase. DO NOT OPEN THE SHIPPING BOX INDOORS. My crate was busted up and I got wood and splinters all over the place. The three .30cal cans were pretty rusted up on the exterior but no rust inside. All wax cardboard boxes were clean and without signs of discoloration. I opened only one cardboard box and the ammo looked good. Definitely worth the price.
This is older surplus ammo for sale here but its still great, sure fire and surprisingly accurate. I have put 500 rounds down range in my FAL and M1A and both guns shoot well with it. I like the ammo cans too, the stenciling makes them collectible to me. The price per round is the lowest I can find online for brass case 7.62x51 ammo. SGAmmo did a great job filling my order, no long waits and well packed shipments, that is why I am back
