Customer Reviews

Just shot this at the range last weekend and was happy with how well it shot and how clean it was. I had good groups up to 500 yards. Thank you sgammo for shipping out so fast look forward to more business with you.
Decent quality ammo for the price. Theres much better Mk262 variants out there, but for much higher prices. I was just under MOA (4, 5 round groups) with my AR15 with a Rainier Arms Ultramatch Mod2 16" 1:7.7 with NF 2.5-10x24. Avg velocity was 2738, SD was 20.9, ES was 83. Velocities were taken with Magnetospeed V3, 20 rounds chronographed; Temp: 78, Station Pressure was 27.82 inHg. This is going to have a relatively large vertical spread at distance. But hitting full IPSC targets at 600-800 yards consistently is manageable. May not be pretty, but you will get impacts.
Fantastic ammo. Incredible sub-MOA precision using 20-in 1:7 thru PSA barrel. Reviews tell it like it is: IMI's load has good stopping power, even at 500 yds. Shop around for this load ... SGAmmo is usually the lowest priced source and ships fast, fast, fast.
Like every other IMI offering, this one shoots with excellent precision. Never had a failure to fire with IMI. While the brass can't compare with MEN, their ammo shoots clean. And, it shoots hard.
The very best ammo for a 5.56 X 45 and S&G is the absolute best choice for purchasing the same !!!!!
This ammo affords accurate shot placement ... or at least accurate with the right barrel. A 1:9 twist (AR Stoner label) produces a 6 inches spread at 100m. A 223 Wylde at 1:7 on the same lower puts the spread at 2/3rd-in from the same distance. Very clean BCG after 300 rnd. Recoil and rise almost trivial using a 5.56 Gamma and either barrel. I'm definitely stocking up before The People's Republic of CA rules take effect. SGAmmo's pricing, even with high shipping cost still beats other sources.
This load is GTG for long range use. If you are proficient with your rifle and optic, 800 yards in wind is not an issue even on small (6-8") steel gongs. Full sized steel I am consistently able to make hits on steel out to 1,200 yards in low wind conditions out of a BCM MK12 upper. Anything inside that on full size targets is cake. I won't bother loading 77gr SMKs anymore and looking for my brass. This literally shoots as good as I can load and is super consistent.
I picked up 500 rounds of IMI 77gr. OTM, LR, MOD 1 from SG Ammo. Much to my dismay and contrary to most of the other reviews here, this is not match quality. I have shot about 200 rounds of this ammo and it averages .9 inchs for all the groups. The run out measured on a 21st Century setup shows why. For example, I just measured a 20 round box and the run out is from .003" to .0185" with only one round at .003". I have checked very round shot and for the most part they are poor, also to note: the oal lengths and weights of load rounds very a great deal. These rounds are being shot out of a Larue barrel chambered to shoot 77 grain Sierra Match Kings. Quite a few of the rounds are dented and some very badly. The ammo boxes are very good and SG Ammo is extremely good, so shipping is not the issue. I would like just to give a heads up on the IMI. This rifle is extremely accurate with other 77 grain SMK loads.
This ammunition shoots sub MOA all day in my 18" AR. My AR has a LaRue Stealth Sniper Barrel 1-8 Wylde chamber. I fired 8 groups @ 100 yards, prone off a bipoday. Theyou were 5 & 8 round groups. Smallest group was 0.420" largest was 0.780, average was 0.620. Great Ammo. I have solid hits on full IPSIC steel out to 975 yards.
Shot out of 1:7 twist 18" barrel (DD v11 Pro) at 100 yards - 3 shot groups dime to quarter size. Sub MOA if you have the equipment and do your job.. A good shooter concentrating may consistently shoot groups with this round that touch. Impossible to find a heavy grain 5.56 that is a better quality at this price point. I can still wish it was less expensive.
